How to Get Unstuck

It is not uncommon for people to feel that they are exerting a lot of energy and working hard and yet their life isn’t moving forward. They feel stuck. The following is a post on a social media platform:

“My life feels like it is in a perpetual state of underachievement. I can’t help but think my life is going nowhere fast. I constantly feel like there is something better out there but I am unable to find or achieve it. No matter what I do or try I feel the same and I am in the same position in life nothing coming naturally.”

This feeling is not unusual.

We might think that if we just could achieve fame and wealth, THEN we would really be able to go somewhere in life. Not true. Many people have climbed the ladder of success only to discover that when they got to the top, the ladder was leaning against the wrong wall.

The advice that a therapist would give to a stuck person is simply to set some goals and pursue them. But the problem is that a stuck person may not know what goals to set; or what they really want.

The solution is to pursue the goals of our Creator. “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.” Every human soul is created in the image of God on purpose; and when that soul has been born again through faith in Jesus, he or she will discover what that purpose is.

God created everything to fulfill a purpose. And that’s especially true of you.
